Par-Tay...

This Sunday, June 1st, 2008 is our UNITED End of the Year Par-Tay. I am just going to go ahead and say it, you will want to be there. Come and bring your friends because this is going to be a good time. It is not being held at the church, but instead we are doing it at the Jordan's home. You might as well plan on being there if you are looking for the "hot spot" that night. Come and plan on taking part in some crazy outside games and well as having your shot at winning some pretty sweet prizes. You will want to try and bring the most friends you possibly can (friends that haven't been to youth group since we started at the beginning of January) because the person that does is going to win a full scholarship to youth camp this summer.
Don't forget that if you want to go to Big Ticket Festival with us you have to be one of the first fifteen to get their deposit in. Also, if you are planning on going to youth camp this summer and want the $20 discount then you need to have your registration in by this Sunday. Do it! Don't ask any questions. Ok, whatever, if you have questions call Pastor Nathan at 796-2157.

Prayer Note:
Make sure to pray for our buddy Zach Taylor who was involved in a moto-cross accident this last weekend. He is still in the hospital and in a great deal of pain with a compressed vertebrae. He is going to make a full recovery, so we say "thank you God for sparing his life and allowing him to walk again, when it could have been so much worse." Pray for Zach. Encourage him, send him a note, call him and tell him you are praying for him.

Lock-In Update...

Hey Ya'll,
It is not too late. If you or any of your friends would still like to go to the Lock-In over in Grand Blanc I need to know. The price has gone from $25 to $35 because pre-registration closed. If you are interested in going (but you don't have the funds) please talk to Pastor Nathan quickly. Ain't no shame in that game, we want everyone who is interested to be able to go. Call Pastor Nathan or have your parents call ASAP to let me know.
Check out this video that I am putting on this post. It is said that Coach Chris (our resident dodgeball expert) has a gym uniform just like this band is wearing at the end of the video, and he is going to wear his at the Lock-In. You don't want to miss out on that.

Reminder for Lock-In

Don't wait to get signed up. Your registration deposit is due by this coming Tuesday. If you register any time after that the price goes up to $35 instead of $25. Thus, get your money in to Pastor Nathan.

East Michigan District Youth Lock-In Is Fast Approaching.

Cost: $25 (if registered by March 25th
$35 (if registered any time after March 25th
(Cash or Checks Payable to Dryden Wesleyan Youth)
You must be registered to go by no later than Sunday April 13th (no exceptions) because we need to make sure you have proper seating arrangements for the ride there and back.

This seems to always be one of the favorite events that we take part in every single year. This is always a great event to invite your friends to because there is something for everyone. Why not do the same this year. We are excited that we will be back at Genesys Athletic Club because the place is sweet. There are a lot of different activities that will hopefully keep you entertained the whole time you are there. Unless you are a boring person and you don't like fun, you should be going to this event.

This video really needs no intro. This guy has managed to find the most useless talent that God has ever given to anyone in the whole history of the world. Our own youth group "squeaker" comes in at a close second. Watch this and let me know what you think.

UNITED, Goin' for it...

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome UNITED Guys and Gals, and absolutely everyone else that visits this page,

Let me just introduce you to the Latest and Greatest, and hopefully the longest running form of communication for us as a youth ministry. This is another attempt (in the long line of attempts) at trying to connect with each of you, to let you know what is going down and what is going up.
If for some reason, you have landed here and you aren't sure how and why, let me welcome you and invite you to be a part of UNITED Youth Ministry (a ministry of Dryden Wesleyan Church). Of course if you don't live in the Lapeer County area of Michigan it might be a little hard for you to become a part of us without a little extra help (helicopter, train, etc...), but none the less if you are looking for a place to belong we would love to have you join with us. We are a youth ministry that is in search of becoming more and more like Christ. We want to truly be authentic and set-apart in our faith and we are in search for God's heart as we become true followers of Christ.
For those of you who are already on board with this then let me just give you a brief introduction to this site. This is going to be the spot in which you will want to check on a regular basis to see what we have going on in the upcoming months. It is my (Pastor Nate's) intent to keep this thing running and up-to-date with the events that we have coming up for our ministry. If you ever have any ideas that you would like to contribute to this page just talk with Pastor Nate and he can make sure that your "wildest UNITED blog dreams" come true.
